- Heat the pan and add chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until translucent.
- Add the mixed vegetables and the eggs; stir-fry until the eggs are cooked.
- Mix in the cold cooked rice, ensuring it doesn't clump together.
- Pour in the soy sauce and mix until the rice is golden and fragrant.
- Add chili or pepper for extra heat, and combine well.
Serving
- Serve hot, topped with a fried egg, cucumber or tomato slices, fried shallots or green onions, and shrimp crackers if desired.
Notes
Nasi Goreng tastes great at any temperature and can be enjoyed for breakfast or as a quick meal. Variations with chicken, shrimp, or tofu are also delicious.
